Welcome to Mrs.Bookbank's Home Connections site. This site contains helpful information and suggestions for parents to help their children in grade one.

First of all, take a look to the side of the page to see the toolbar for this site.
The first heading is Weekly Word Wall Words. By clicking on this heading, you will find this week's words for daily home study. These words will help your child to learn how to read and write. A test will be given on each Friday.

The second heading, entitled Reading Strategies will provide B.U.R.P.S. (Best Used Reading Practices and Strategies) that are taught in class and should be practiced at home during daily home reading.

The third heading is our classroom's Reading Partners' Schedule. Your help is needed to give each child the opportunity to practice his/her reading, one on one, with a parent volunteer. Please use the contact information to set up a time that you would like to help with our Reading Partners' Program.

The fourth heading, Booknook, includes favourite authors and links, that are worthwhile checking out.

The fifth heading, Math Works, contains math games to reinforce our classroom learning at home.

The sixth heading, entitled Reminder Board, will keep you posted about upcoming events and requests.
